Cheap 32 Inch LCD Monitor?

Q. I'm after a cheap 32 inch LCD monitor. Not a TV but a PC monitor. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks, but all the TV's i tried suffer from input lag and bad response rates, at varying degrees. I'm specifically after a monitor...

A. I believe all LCD TV's today can be used as monitors. I use my LCD TV as one. Also I know Walmart has them for like $300.

what is the best lcd 32 inch tv monitor?
Q.

A. The Sharp is the best right now - the Olevia is a great all around monitor for the price, but the HD quality isn't very good.

You'll notice in the rankings from the site I included as a source, the Sharp monitors pretty much dominante.

Im buying a 32 inch lcd monitor will games still look good even though the screen is much bigger?

Q. is there any reccomended viedo cards i should buy with this size of monitor?

A. 32" lcd monitor, not a tv/monitor, should have a higher resolution than your typical 17" monitor. However, this doesn't mean that things will necessarily look better.

in fact, it may do the opposite because your video card will have to work harder to display at a higher resolution, therefore making everything pretty choppy.

not to mention that everything will be HUGE in comparison.

it will look just as good with the same resolution when you look at it from a distance. that's really the big advantage of having a bigger monitor - that you can see it better from a longer distance.

as far as quality of the image is concerned, that all varies on your pc equipment. if you upgrade your PC with a high end video card, it might look much better. in general, it will make it look just as good or possibly a bit worse.

as far as recommendations are concerned, i would get an nvidia 8800 class video card or higher if you plan on using it with the maximum resolution that your lcd monitor will support. trust me, it'll slow down significantly once you boost your video resolution up.

Can a LCD withstand being outside covered throughout the year in Arizona's climate?

Q. Arizona has moderate temperature in the winters and extreme heat in the summer. I want to use my back yard patio more and I thought if I put a 32" LCD monitor on my concrete wall we would use our back yard more. I would cover the TV when not in use, and it would not get much direct sun light.

A. depends on how many you wish tobuy...after every humid episode or hot temps you'd better plan on buying a new one

My monitor keeps flashing on and off after I updated my driver, How do I fix this?
Q. It says I have a Geforce 7600 gt at my start up so I downloaded the correct driver on the nvidia website. Once I rebooted the computer my tv/monitor (32" lcd through a VGA cable) it keeps flashing on and off. Is there anyway I can fix this? I works fine when it is in safe mode but I dont know how to fix it. I'm on WINDOWS XP,

A. roll back the driver.

right click on my computer-click on manage-once that box pops up (Computer Management) click on device manager-find 'display adapters' and expand it-right click on the device and go to properties-click on the 'driver' tab-click on 'Roll Back Driver'

hope this works.

Would you rather have an LCD or a PLASMA?
Q. I just recently bought a Samsung LCD 32" for nearly $700 and I absolutely love it. But why do people keep saying that Plasma tvs are better?

A. Alright first off you bought the best possible brand tv...so I applaud you there. First off there is a huge difference between the two! Plasmas have a glass diplay on the outside, where as LCDs dont...Plasmas actually have a glass tube running through it filled with plasma gas, the light is then projected through this gas giving you your image. LCD is an all around digital screen compared to that of a computer monitor. when deciding whether to get a plasma or lcd look at how much natural sunlight you have in the room you putting the tv in. If they're is alot of natural light stay away from plasma, you'll have a horrible glare. Plasma's are known for they're vividly bright colors but they fade quicker than LCD, but since you bought a samsung...you really don't have to worry about that Samsung is known for they're bright display no matter what type of TV you bought, where as Sony is known for Deep blacks and whiter whites...but if you have any doubts in which tv to buy go with LCD because they require less maintance long term and they're aren't as fragile...If you put a plasma tv on it's back this puts pressure on the glass tube and can crack it and once it leaks the gas your screen will be a nasty green color. They both have the same average life now even though LCD once had the edge, but they both last on average of 45,000 to 60,000 hours. But an LCD screen will look overall better during this long time period.

How to get the clearest, most crisp picture on an LCD for gaming?

Q. I have a 32" monitor that I want to look like an arcade machine monitor. How do I give it that crisp look?

A. Well, but arcade machines dont produce any high resolution or crisp pictures. They are not meant to be so.And for your monitor, if you want it to be put for purely gaming purpose you need to get a great game console say PS3 or a CPU of a computer which should be loaded with a great graphic card costing around $500 .

Hope it helps.

Is there a monitor I can hook up a PC and and Xbox to?

Is it bad to have a 32 inch LCD tv as your computer monitor?

Q. So on christmas I found someone threw out a perfectly good hitachi 32 inch LCD monitor (Flatscreen). I hooked it up to my pc because I had a crappy 15 inch one. It works amazing but I would like to know is it unhealthy or can it damage your eyes to use a 32 inch monitor as a computer screen?

A. no, it's a great idea based on your previous situation. can't hurt you and probably looks a million times better. make sure you up your resolution to match the tv resolution.

How far is the optimal viewing distance for LCD-TV 32"?
Q. Also, for LCD monitor 19" for computer ?

How far should my eyes' distance from those monitors ?

If possible, Complete Answers please.

BIG THANKS.

Reference to any Websites is very much appreciated

A. The viewing distance calculator below will give you 2 answers:

- one based on THX recommended viewing angle
- one based on visual ability
