HDTV or Full HD monitor?

Q. I have $340 I have been earning for a new TV. Yesterday I was bored so I decided to search for a good TV to buy, and as I was scrolling down the page I saw a 23" Full HD monitor that has anything from HDMI, VGA, DVI, Component and even a built in Tuner(I guess even more of a TV than a monitor). And from the time I have been earning money, I have been thinking of buying a Vizio 32" 720p HDTV. Now I am stuck on which one I want to buy. I want to buy the monitor for two reasons 1. Full HD 1080p, 2. Samsung Brand. And the TV the two reasons are 1. 32 inches, 2. May not be Full HD but it's still HD. Can someone give opinions one which one you would buy, or which one I should buy.

A. Keep in mind that you can not see the difference between 720P and 1080P in screen smaller than a 46". Also the only source of material for 1080P is the Blu Ray disc movies and some video games. TV HD program are in the 720P and some provider like disc network up convert the signal to 1080P. The top 2 name on TV or computer monitor are Panasonic and Samsung. They might be a bit more money but they will last long than the bargain brands you see in the market today. If you read yahoo questions you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from LCD/LED and 95% of those are off brands. Save more money and pay a little extra on quality and reliability. Look at the screen from an angle and see if the picture degrades, which you will find on off brands but not on a Panasonic or Samsung. Hope this will help you out.

A. There is very small difference. You should be fine, so long as it is a 1080p native display.

Is a full HD monitor worth it?
Q. I currently hve a monitor that supports 1280*1024 and it is 19 inches, it is an old monitor though. Would I see a big difference in picture if I got a full HD 1080p 22inch monitor?

A. 1080p High Definition (1920x1080 resolution) on a small 22-inch monitor means the pixels are going to be extra-tiny. Personally my eyes can't take such small pixels because the text will be very small at standard settings.

Better go to a computer store that has a 22-inch 1080p monitor on display so you can see it for yourself before you buy.

Me, I run 1920x1080 resolution on a 52-inch LCD. Text is nice and big and easy to read. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f347/armchairaviator/computer/IMG_0880c.jpg

Do all LCD monitors with a resolution by 1080 have 1080p? And does having 1080p mean it is full HD?

Q. Im planning to buy a full hd lcd monitor for my computer. I use it for watching movies and playing games. But i don't quit know how to determine if it is full HD. And would you guys know the benefits of having a full hd lcd monitor

A. If you want to play back Blu-Ray DVDs at full pixel-for-pixel 1080p High-Definition, you need the following:

1) A Blu Ray drive.

2) An HDCP-compliant video card.

3) An HDCP-compliant monitor that can display 1920x1080. (So in a nutshell, "Full HD" monitor = HDCP compliance and 1920x1080 resolution-capable.)

Keep in mind that HDCP-protected digital high-def video content like Blu Ray discs requires both the vid card and monitor to be HDCP-compliant. If one of those pieces are not, HD Blu Ray movie playback will NOT work.

Hope this helps.

Why do old crt monitors have better picture quality than lcds?
Q. I have a 22" 1920x1080 lcd monitor on my computer. Well the other day I went over my friends house and he had a old CTX 17" crt monitor, and it was the clearest thing I ever seen. Perfect black levels, very crisp text, and the colors were much richer. Why does his crt have a better picture than my 22" 1080p full hd monitor?

A. It really depends on your LCD monitor, there are cheaper models with less mature technology, whereas CRTs have been around a long time and hence it's cheap to produce good models, and they don't (afaik) make them anymore.

Try look at high-end IPS monitors, which do have much better colour reproduction, viewing angles and then the price :P.

People moved to LCD, not because of image quality, but for energy-efficiency and how light it is.

How to hook up PS3 to LCD Monitor and TV at once?

Q. Ok my TV is a 28' Samsung LCD HD tv. My monitor is a 22' Dell LCD full HD monitor.

I have the component cables in my TV and the HDMI plugged into my PC monitor. What do I have to do in the settings to get the same image on both screens?

A. You can't.

The only way to get the image on both screens (which will be the exact same image), is to split the video cable.

The PS3 can NOT output two video signals at once. You either have to use the HDMI cable and split it, or use the RCA cables and split them.
