Tv vs lcd monitor for gaming?

Q. I was recently wondering What is better for gaming and less delay. Ussually delay is not noticed by regular day to day gamers but it is crutial when playing a first person shooter.
I was wondering what a typical response time is for a xbox 360 hooked to a lcd tv vs a game consle hooked up to a lcd computer monitor. I am a hardcore gamer and I want to have the least delay possible.I really want a bigger screen size but I will sacrifice screen size over performance by buying a monitor if necessary. I have heard of the newer tv's with a (game mode) but I am skeptical if it is the m/s response time of a monitor. If anyone can help me ty.

A. I have a big deal for you, Panasonic TC-L32X2 LCD HDTV 32 inches for just $329 or Panasonic TC-L37X2 LCD HDTV 37 inches for just $459 with game mode feature available in both of them the dark images in video games are more clear, besides it offers a wide viewing angle 178° so you can view the full image even if you' re not facing the screen. You'll enjoy playing video games using Panasonic HDTV.
My large experience in TVs lets me tell you do not miss this purchase if you look for gaming TV.

LCD or LED pc monitor for gaming?
Q. I plan on getting a 30' monitor which one LCD or LED for gaming?

A. They will both be LCD - that's the display technology that all flatscreen monitors use.
LED or not is to do with the backlighting.

The LED one uses LED lights as the backlight
The non-LED one used a fluorescent light as the backlight.

It is more important to choose one with a good contrast ratio and fast reponse time.
Monitors with slow response times will show a ghosted blurry image in fast moving screen action. Monitors with low contrast ratio will have blacks that are dark grey and colours that look washed out.

Ideally you want a high contrast ratio, a fast response time and LED backlight.

What kind of lcd monitors are suitable for ps3 gaming?

Q. what kind of lcd monitors are suitable for ps3 gaming? just need to make sure it has a dvi or hdmi port right? and make sure it is hdcp compliant right? is the aspect ratio important? what about things like 720p etc
if a monitor supports only 1280x1024 resolution, which is 4:3 (right?), is it still compatible with ps3 gaming?

A. It should be HDCP compliant and ideally have a HDMI input, but DVI will work as well. If it only has VGA input (almost all new monitors now have at least one digital input) then you will need to use a transcoder box.
Many PS3 games are in 16:9 widescreen, so ideally you would want a monitor in that aspect ratio. Any resolution should look fine, but 1920x1080 resolution is needed to fully resolve every pixel in 1080p games. Anything higher than 1920x1080 is unnecessary and may actually degrade picture quality.
Fast response time is an important specification on LCD/LED monitors as well. Ideally, it should be no greater than 5 milliseconds.
LED monitors offer better contrast and color, but are more expensive than conventional LCD monitors.

A SXGA (1280x1024) monitor should be able to play the games, but you will either have letterboxing (black bars at the top and bottom) or a vertically stretched picture. SXGA monitors can display 720p perfectly. Set the aspect ratio of the game to 4:3 or Full if possible. Note that many LCD SXGA monitors are actually 5:4 aspect ratio.

How to choose the right LCD monitor for gaming?

Q. I am going to be using the LCD monitor with my Xbox 360 and I am having difficulties on what I should look for.

I can't seem to figure out what specs I am looking for. Can anyone tell me about which contrast ratio, vertical/ horizontal refresh rates, resolution, and brightness I should look for on an LCD monitor?

Also would it be better with HDMI or no? If possible can you also list a few monitors you would recommend?

A. HDMI is good, but expensive. DVI will give you the same result for a lot less.

Refresh rates are going to be about the same for every brand. However, some top of the line have 240 Hz rates - very good.

Resolution: 1920x1200 is HD widescreen.

Contrast of 1000:1 or better.

Response: 5 ms or less

Dot Pitch: 0.28 or less

Brightness: 300 cd at a bare minimum, get the highest.

How do you connect your ps3 to your lcd computer monitor to play games?
Q. I would like to play ps3 games in full hd but I don't have enough money to cough up for a new hdtv. I have a VH242H Asus LCD monitor(24 inches). Do you need an hdmi to dvi cable? or can you connect it using hdmi directly since my monitor has an hdmi port. How do acquire audio?

A. you can use a HDMI cable to your computer. Once it starts up it should automatically reset the settings, or you can go to the settings to adjust them.

Audio will be set up after you have done the video settings on your PS3 (like right after so they arn't seperate) or they should automatically be done.

Are modern TFT LCD monitors better for gaming than standard LCD monitors?
Q. I'm considering buying a 22" 1080p TFT LCD monitor for gaming and was wondering which type is best suited for gaming. I'll be playing on an Xbox 360. I'm concerned with response times and if the type of panel affects this. Also color is another issue because I've heard that TFT panels aren't the best with colors compared to a standard LCD.

I've considered the Philips 221E1HSB, Samsung 2243SWX, and the HP 2159m

Thanks for your time.

what's the difference between ghosting and motion blur on an LCD monitor?

Q. I think my LCD monitor has it bad while playing games with a response time of 25ms, NEC LCD 1980sxi.

A. Yeah, that's pretty low-spec for a monitor. motion blur should not affect you when you're simply chaning your point of view. Also, motion blur is a desirable effect while ghosting is not.
