Does a higher contrast ratio of lcd monitor presents more accurate color for printing?

Q. Does CRT has higher contrast ratio compare to LCD?
Need more accurate display to assist me in computer graphics illustration.

A. If you want color accuracy without spending $1,000 on a monitor, get a CRT monitor and use a $100 color calibration device like a Huey (etc) to set the colors right.

There are so many combinations of monitors, printers and image software available that it is not possible to make a general statement about color accuracy, except that cheaper CRT's are more accurate than similiarly priced LCD's.

What type of equipment do I need to have to accomplish this?
Q. I have a Pentax ist-D camera and numerous interchangeable lenses. I'd like to be able to view my digital photos with the correct density and color calibration on my home computer and while on the road at a sporting event. I also need to be able to print my digital pics up to 8x10 or 11x14 while on the road where electrical access is available.

What type of equipment do I need to have to accomplish this?
I don't own a laptop. Any suggestions?

A. About half my work is on location. It is imperative you have a a notebook computer so you can process your RAW files in Photoshop and then print high quality prints on-site, using some kind of photo quality printer. Printing from Photoshop is nearly the only choice, whether you are using a photo quality inkjet or dye sublimation printer. When you up the anti to 11 x 14 inches, the cost of the printer can become 10 x the cost of a printer that can print 8x10.

I use the EyeOne2 monitor calibration device on both my 21 inch CRT on my Photoshop workstation in my office and the 17 inch LCD on my notebook computer. You will also need to have an invoice program on your notebook, so you can print out receipts to the customers.
