How do you modify the magnet effect of the windows 7 taskbar?

Q. I have been on the windows 7 beta for a while, and just recently I decided to start pinning programs to the taskbar.

However, I would like it if the pinned stuff went to the right instead of mixing with my already open stuff (I have a 24 inch Samsung LCD monitor 1920x1200 resolution). I hate having a huge untidy taskbar filled with random pinned stuff AND open programs.

Anyone know what can be done?

A. I don't think that's possible... What is wrong with that, anyway? I didn't find it confusing... I suggest you just separate the programs you use most often from the programs that you use less often.

How do I lower my monitor brightness?
Q. I am currently running a Windows 7 laptop but connected it to my 24" LCD monitor. I can adjust brightness just fine on my laptop but the problem is, my laptop receives all the bright/dimming state of the light adjustment. My monitor stays at max brightness settings and the buttons on my monitor is locked because it's connected to my laptop. Anyone know if I can somehow change the brightness for my monitor despite these problems?

A. just check out for a menu button there and then you can change brightness settings according to your need.

Can computer Led/Lcd monitor upscale lower resolution video to fit in higher resolution screen?

Q. Ok it's probably a noob question.

As far as I know HD led/lcd tvs can upscale lower resolution game video/frames(ps3 xbox 360) to fit the whole screen.

So I need to know can computer monitor with hd resolution support (1920x1080) upscale 1360x768p resolution game video/frames to fit the whole screen?Or I need to play at native 1920x1080p resolution so that the monitor can fill the whole screen? Is there any special type or model of any Lcd/Led monitor that can upscale Pc game's frames from lower resolution to fit the whole screen? Is this any special feature for computer Led/Lcd monitor? If so what is this feature is called/named?Do different manufacturers lcd monitor have different names of this feature?

the reason I am asking is because I play at 1360x768p resolution on 16 inches lcd monitor and now I am thinking about updating to a 1920x1080p monitor. But if I play at 1360x768p resolution will there be blank spaces around the edges of monitor screen or the monitor will upscale the game frames to fit the whole screen ?
ok those blank bars do make me feel the monitor is not used to it's full potential

kind of makes the monitor feel empty and game screen with black bars also feels

quite weird to me.

So what is the aspect ratio of 1360x768 resolution 16:9 or 16:10?Will it upscale and fit to 1920x1080 resolution monitor or leave blank bars outside the game frame?

A. 1360x768 is 1.7708333 ratio. 1920x1080 is 1.777777 ratio. Very close.
16:10 is 1.6 ratio. 16:9 is 1.77777 ratio. As you can see, the 16:9 ratio screen best fits both the resolutions you are trying for.
But there is a cost to upscaling. Since you cannot manufacture greater detail out of a lower resolution signal like 1360x768, what upscaling does is to add in duplicated pixels every so often. Since there are (1920-1360 = 560) more pixels to put into the picture, that means somehow those 560 pixels are added over the spread of 1920 pixels. About every 3.42 pixels another one is added. Actually it goes 3,3,4,3,4,3,3,4,3,4 etc. As you can see, a lot of duplicates are added. The resolution is not any better. It is just expanded to cover greater area of screen. It does get fuzzier if you compare side by side. But you are supposed to view from a greater distance so you will not notice.
And, I think the standard is 1366x768, not 1360x768. That gives a 1.7786 ratio.

How long do LCD monitors typically last?
Q. I bought an Acer X163W LCD monitor from wallmart for $99.99, and i was wondering ho long it will last in a 24/7 media environment. I've already had it on for 4 months 24/7 and don't notice anything changing with image quality and brightness.

A. Typically the backlight is rated 50,000 hours, so do the math to see how many years that is. 50,000/24/365 = 5.7 years. Multiply that by 3 if use averages 8 hrs/day. However, if other electronic components are overrated or substandard, or you physically fatigue a connector or break something, that may shorten its life.

Of all the laptops and LCD monitors/TV's at home or small office at work, I have only seen one failure. A 17" Dell LCD monitor failed at work, but not sure exactly what the issue was, maybe a fatigued VGA connector. At first it would fail to wake from standby unless I jiggled the cable. But eventually it was just a black screen with blinking green power LED (which was usually solid green when on or amber in standby). Same cable works fine with different monitor.

I have a PIII 500 laptop purchased Jan 2000 that still works. And I left it on 24/7 for a couple of years as a wireless terminal for a PC in my basement. Although, the display did go into standby when not in use. I have not fired it up much lately other than to get some data from it (dual boots Win98se and Linux).

How much less energy does an LCD monitor use compared to a CRT?

Q. Just to be comparative, let's say a 19 inch LCD monitor vs. a 19 inch CRT monitor used for the same amount of time. How much less energy does the average LCD use and could that add up to any significant savings over a month's or year's time? I'm just curious, and if it really makes a difference, I'll factor that in to my purchase.

A. Energy Requirements: LCD monitors are extremely economical when it comes to power consumption. Their consumption is in the region of 25 -50 watts compared to CRT which consume like 60-80 watts for a 15 inch model to almost 70 to 150 for 17 and 19 inch models.

Where can I find a generic driver for my new 19 inch LCD monitor?
Q. My old CRT monitor died, so i trotted down to Best Buy and bought an inexpensive 19 inch LCD monitor. When I got it home, I discovered that the drivers on the disc are only for Windows Vista, and my computer uses XP. I have also checked the company's website, no luck. I wouldn't care much, except I use this system for photo editing. All of the graphics are stretched to fit the wider screen. Any suggestions?

A. you dont need drivers for almost all monitors. the basic ones windows install work fine and there will be no difference

How to change the the resolution on my LCD monitor for my PS3?

Q. I got a Viewsonic VA2448m-LED 60cm/24" (23,6" viewable) Widescreen LCD monitor that supports Full HD 1920x1080 resolution. Whenever i play most games a "Resolution Notice" pops up that says for best picture quality change resolution to 1920x1080? ive searched the menu and cant find any way to? is it already on that resolution?

A. The console should automatically adjust resolution. I believe the only options available is to change the quality in the ps3 settings. Make sure it's on 1080p and not 720p.

How can I fix impact damage on my LCD monitor?

Q. Recently, my cousin impacted my LCD monitor with a PEN GUN. Is there anything that I can do to fix this? The pixels under the crater are white so they are not dead, but the debris from the crater is blocking the liquid from getting to the pixels..is there a special way to get the debris out?

A. Ummm, NO!

Suggest your cousin come up with $225 bucks for a new LCD screen, and another $150 to $200 for labor to install it.

What features should my not pricey digital camera have? I have never used a digital before?
Q. Auto focus, manual focus, what else for under $200. Himself is about to go out & buy me one what features shall I tell him the camera should have? (No I can't go with him, it's a gift for me.)

A. Cameras are judged by image quality rank system..

But mostly ppl buy on the basis of Brand name, mega pixel and LCD monitor size..not good option..

Other factors are
-Good Flash Range.
-Speedy performance
-Quick Flash recharge Time
-Good indoor picture capability

I can recommend some cameras which have image rank 8 or 9 (out of 10).

Fujifilm F40fd (Best).
Fujifilm F20 (Best).
Fujifilm F31fd.
Nikon L11
Olympus FE-250
Canon A720IS

what's the difference between ghosting and motion blur on an LCD monitor?

Q. I think my LCD monitor has it bad while playing games with a response time of 25ms, NEC LCD 1980sxi.

A. Yeah, that's pretty low-spec for a monitor. motion blur should not affect you when you're simply chaning your point of view. Also, motion blur is a desirable effect while ghosting is not.

What is the difference betweeen an HD tv and a lcd monitor?
Q. I have a normal flat screen tv, i am planning to buy a new HDTV or lcd monitor ( depending on which is better) . The only reason i will be using my display unit will be for gaming ( using my xbox 360). Any suggestiions on which is best for gaming?

A. Jes - if ALL you will use this for is games, a monitor is fine. Does a higher contrast ratio of lcd monitor presents more accurate color for printing?

Q. Does CRT has higher contrast ratio compare to LCD?
Need more accurate display to assist me in computer graphics illustration.

A. If you want color accuracy without spending $1,000 on a monitor, get a CRT monitor and use a $100 color calibration device like a Huey (etc) to set the colors right.

There are so many combinations of monitors, printers and image software available that it is not possible to make a general statement about color accuracy, except that cheaper CRT's are more accurate than similiarly priced LCD's.

What type of equipment do I need to have to accomplish this?
Q. I have a Pentax ist-D camera and numerous interchangeable lenses. I'd like to be able to view my digital photos with the correct density and color calibration on my home computer and while on the road at a sporting event. I also need to be able to print my digital pics up to 8x10 or 11x14 while on the road where electrical access is available.

What type of equipment do I need to have to accomplish this?
I don't own a laptop. Any suggestions?

A. About half my work is on location. It is imperative you have a a notebook computer so you can process your RAW files in Photoshop and then print high quality prints on-site, using some kind of photo quality printer. Printing from Photoshop is nearly the only choice, whether you are using a photo quality inkjet or dye sublimation printer. When you up the anti to 11 x 14 inches, the cost of the printer can become 10 x the cost of a printer that can print 8x10.

I use the EyeOne2 monitor calibration device on both my 21 inch CRT on my Photoshop workstation in my office and the 17 inch LCD on my notebook computer. You will also need to have an invoice program on your notebook, so you can print out receipts to the customers.

I would want to keep the price lower than $500. Any suggestions?

Can LCD monitors damage the skin around your eyes?

Q. I have an LCD monitor and I wanted to know if it can damage or affect the SKIN around your eye in any way? Like for example can it cause premature eye wrinkles, or thin down the skin around it, or anything similar?

A. LCD monitors are the same light as a lightbulb...just a bit more intense and controlled to display images. Unless you're squinting and straining to read something on screen then you're fine.

What is the diff between a TFT-LCD and LCD monitors? Which is good for eyes in terms of long working?
Q. I wanna buy a 19" LCD monitor and currently weighing between HP and Samsung monitors. All HP monitors are called LCD monitors as per the package details as well as per their website, while all Samsung monitors are called TFT LCD Monitors. I am a bit confused, as I work a lot on PC, I would like to protect my eyes and health. Can someone help me with correct answer?

A. LCD monitors use Liquid Crystal Diodes.

TFT is an LCD monitor that uses Thin Film Transistor technology.

Other types are:
TN+Film - Twisted Nematic
IPS - In Plane Switching
MVA - Multi-Domain Vertical Alignment
PVA - Patterned Vertical Alignment
S-PVA - Super Patterned Vertical Alignment.

TFT is the most common today, and LCD is accepted as being TFT-LCD. Usually you only see a differentiation if it's one of the other technologies. The other types all have their advantages and disadvantages, but TFT is the cheapest to manufacture today.

For your eyes, you want an LCD. LCD's are on, and change when they change vs. a CRT which has a refresh rate. In a CRT, the phosphorus is charged and glows, but then dims very quickly. The refresh recharges it, but there is a dimming and brightening affect. The higher the refresh rate, the less noticable it is to you.

Within an LCD, if cost is no object, you want an IPS (better) or S-PVA (best). They will have the highest contrast ratios and brightest screens. Be prepared to pay, and pay well for this luxury though.

How to fix a flooded LCD monitor?
Q. The LCD monitor is still working after drying it for about 2-3 weeks from now. But when the LCD monitor is turned on, there are traces of somewhat wet areas in the screen.

How can i fix this?

A. You really cant.

Technology like monitors and cell phones and anything that needs power to work most likley wont recover from being full of water.

Atleast it wont ever be the same again.

Just save yourself the trouble and go get a new one.

How do i get the correct resolution on my 22" LCD TV when using it as a computer monitor?

Q. I'm using a 22" LCD TV as a computer monitor at the moment, because i am unable to afford a monitor right now. It's a 22" LCD Toshiba TV, and i am using a HDMI to DVI cable, HDMI is in the TV, and the DVI is in my computer (Graphics card is GeForce GTX 650) and i have updated my Graphics cards drivers and all that, but when ever i select a resolution, every single resolution i select is quite blurry and just horrible to look at. Is there anything i can do to fix this?

A. No, there is no way you can fix it, your tv has a high response time which leaves ghost images, blurriness, fuzziness etc. I went through the same problem you are and will never use a tv again as a computer monitor. If the tv or pc monitor has any higher than a 2ms response time you get the problems with blurriness. 2ms response time is required for smooth motion playback motion and clear picture imaging.
Most lcd and led tvs are 8ms or higher. when you get ready to buy a monitor make sure to check the response time and buy one with a 2ms response.

I'll give you a link to a very good monitor it sells for $175 not including shipping charges on amazon. It would give you perfect picture with no ghosting. If you are saving up, I suggest you buy this monitor from amazon.

How do you plug in earphones to a Refurbished Dell UltraSharp 170 FP LCD Monitor?

Q. I got these earphones for Easter, and I kind find a way to plug them into my PC to work. I tried looking on the computer front, but the slots did nothing. I looked behind my speakers, and they had no earphone slots. My last resort was probably my computer screen. It's a Refurbished Dell UltraSharp 170 FP LCD Monitor and I'm wondering if anyone happens to know how to solve this problem.

A. The back of the computer. The green jack is for output to speakers or headphones. Buy a Y adapter and plug your speakers and your headphones in to that.

Is it possible to use an LCD monitor for a TV?
Q. I would like to purchase a LCD monitor and hook it up to my tivo and some speakers, they are so much cheaper than LCD tvs. Is this possible? Do I need some type of converter? Do LCD monitors all have the same inputs? Help please!

A. It depends on the cable service you got your Tivo hooked up to.

If your cable service is standard-definition (uses coax or composite to connect to a TV), then you can't use a computer monitor.

If you have digital HDTV cable service and the cable box has a DVI or HDMI output, you can use any HDCP-compliant LCD computer monitor to display the HD cable box's video output.

The video signal carried by HDMI is in fact single-link DVI, so a DVI-to-HDMI cable can be used to connect an HDMI cable box to a DVI monitor. And cable boxes ARE TV tuners (which is why they have remotes for changing channels), so the monitor does NOT require a tuner on-board to work with an HD cable box. It merely displays whatever DVI signal the HD cable box is telling it to display.

Since broadcast-quality High Definition TV signals are at least 720p (1280x720 resolution), pretty much any LCD monitor can display 720p, as long as it is HDCP-compliant so it will work with the digital HD cable box.

If you want 1080i broadcast HD, you should get an HDCP-compliant monitor that can display 1920x1080 resolution.

Keep in mind most computer monitors have no speakers. You will have to hook up a separate set of speakers to the cable box to get audio.

Hope this helps.

How much can I get for a BenQ FP757 monitor?

Q. I have a BenQ FP757 17" VGA LCD monitor, and I wanted to know how much I could get for it. It works great, no scratches or anything, but since it's for a gaming PC, we wanted to get something bigger.

A. Depends on when you bought it, it's current price, the price of the current market fav.

- In the eyes of a bank, Computer parts depreciate @33% every year. So subtract this amount from your cost price

- If your monitor is still available at a reduced price, factor in the price drop. For ex: if there's a 10% price drop, subtract this amount from your cost-price too. If the monitor is not available in the market at all, the discount calculation becomes complicated since your monitor can face a 50% depreciation or some appreciation too.

- If a better model is available at the same price as your model, apply a 10-15% off.

Remember, how much value you can extract depends purely on your prospective buyer's willingness to pay. I know of someone who sold a 1 year monitor at profit simply because a technology lab wanted that specific model very badly.

Most people I know had to sell 1 year old goods at 50% of the buying price.

What is the impact of the resolution to the quality of the gaming experience?
Q. Hay all.
I have a 19" LCD monitor running on my gtx 580. M running it on 1366x768 resolution. Now, I like to play games in the highest possible details, with a lot of FPS <- and i'm not sure my monitor does that.

So my question is, should i buy a 1080p monitor? will it improve the image clarity or will it just reduce my FPS?

thanks
-NICK-

A. both. It will improve image clarity, but the higher the resolution, the lower the frame rate.

Although seeing as how your using the best single gpu card out on the market, your gpu would handle 1080p gaming just fine, even the settings should still be on max or very high.

What is the difference between an LCD Monitor and an LCD TV?

Q. Why are LCD Monitors cheaper than LCD TVs? Both receive and process digital information so why the big price difference? Is it the resolution and clarity? Or is it just a rip off the industry doesn't want you to know about?

A. Those LCD panel for Monitor use is design main for text display. LCD display panel for tv use is design for image/picture. is not the same panel, some technical difference ! A low end standard LCD monitor price can be cheap, but a good monitor should be cost more than LCD tv ( compare to same size screen ). For TV..LCD display + tuner RF > IF> colour decode > Audio RF>IF> ..... Total many other parts and circuit design . Monitor need good Resolution LCD panel + VIDEOS display circuit , because of resolution ,LCD Display panel price always high,or even very high ! ( unless ,some cheap monitor use bad resolution panel ). maybe make is more sample for this... F1 engine and WRX sport saloon car engine, is engine, but difference design because of difference NEED !

What should I look for in an LCD monitor?
Q. I want to hook up an LCD monitor to my laptop. I do mainly Excel/Outlook work so I am more concerned about crisp, clear text than color matching. Which specifications should I focus on? Any recomendations on a specific make/model? I am looking for a 19" or 21" Widescreen for under $250.

A. Getting a monitor at 19 or 21, or even 22 inches is very doable for under $250. I don't agree with the previous answer, since you don't seem that interested in high-powered gaming. I work from home on an Viewsonic Q19WB 19" widescreen monitor. It has a 1440x900 resolution, 5ms latency time, 700:1 Contrast ratio. I scored it for $120 after a $20 rebate from Buy.com in December.

I do a lot of the same tasks as you where text clarity is of utmost importance. I actually split screen with Excel or Word and other programs to cross-reference and extract data from one side to the other, and this monitor does the trick for me.

There are good monitors that pop up all the time on deal sites like Slickdeals.net that I would highly suggest you monitor if you are really interested in purchasing a monitor. You could get a huge bang for your buck there and get the monitor that you desire. Good luck!

Why do fonts look so awful on Firefox in Ubuntu?

Q. Do the Ubuntu devs use the terminal to surf the web? Why do fonts look so awful on Firefox while using Ubuntu with a resolution of 1440x900?

I've tried adjusting the fonts in Firefox and they still look terrible. Why can't Ubuntu developers make nice looking fonts, such as the perfected fonts in Windows?

A. Your problem isn't the fonts - the fonts are perfect, but the display isn't right. You can copy all of the fonts from an XP and a Vista installation - I did this and put them into /usr/share/fonts/ in a folder called mscore - then ran fc-cache and then tried a few out. The only one really worth keeping is Trebuchet - I use that as a font for my conky - digital time display at the bottom of the screen. The other fonts aren't an improvement at all, it's simply the screen rendering - 96dpi or 97dpi? check it out.

You're using quite an old version - 8.04 is very old now. With Jaunty, the Xserver sets itself up - it adjusts to the correct dpi of your monitor. I was extremely impressed.

It now looks much better than Windows.

If you want to find out, I think perhaps your settings are messed up. You can test my idea by doing the following:

Open Nautilus browser (ALT + F2, type 'nautilus', hit enter)

press CTRL and H to get hidden files showing.

Right click, make a NEW folder, name it AAA.hidden

Select all of the documents and folders you see with a name starting with a '.' - like '.bashrc' and stuff, drag them into the folder.

Now log out from your desktop, or just restart. You should come back to a basic gnome desktop with fonts perfectly adjusted.

If you don't - then I strongly suggest that you simply get a Jaunty installation disk and install. You messed it up somehow - because believe me, my fonts are perfect and when I reboot to Windows to play games, they look NASTY.

If you use an LCD, just check - it should be automatic, but in Appearance-fonts you should be set up to use Subpixel smoothing with maybe 96dpi (for my monitor) with slight hinting, and select rgb/bgr/vbgr - for my HP it's RGB.

Honestly, Firefox and all the other browsers and applications look far better than they used to look even with Ubuntu 8.10 now because the set up is automatic on installation!!!

Okay - update - you're using 8.04, probably a pre-install right?

Run 'partition editor' and write down details of how your partitions are laid out. If possible, have a separate partition for all of your personal stuff, move it there.

You really should look to format ext4 (sooo fast and silent compared to ext3 - I copy at 50MB per sec now, instead of 22mb/sec with NTFS or ext3, and a full filesystem check takes 10 seconds, instead of ten minutes).

So move as much stuff you need to a separate partition. Download and burn a Jaunty CD (www.getubuntu.com) and boot that. You can create a USBstartup disk from the system menu - this is so much cooler and faster than a liveCD (silent, fast, and can remember settings) - then install.

Set yourself a root partition, maybe 15 up to 20GB (it is hard to make it fill up past 7 or 8GB to be honest) then a /etc partition, only small - less than 4GB, then the rest could be home - but at least 50GB maybe. Then if you're dualbooting you can use NTFS for a shared storage partition (but it's much much faster if you use ext4 for EVERYTHING - my boot up time is 25 seconds and I only hear a single click if I listen carefully to the HDD)

I'll bet if you boot from USB your monitor will look amazing - so install Jaunty, it's so much better than 8.10 and for me, I found 8.10 was much much better than 8.04.

I started with 7.04 - and really, you have NO idea just how massive the improvements are - they come only a few months apart - 9.04 is like TEN years ahead of 8.04.

Go for it - honestly, I had lots of problems with 7.04 and 7.10 - quite a few with 8.04. just one with 8.10 and so far, with 9.04 everything seems to be automated, driver downloads - everything was soooo smooth, it's like a new operating system (nothing like 8.04)

How do I transfer video from the hard drive to the SD card on a JVC Everio GZ-MG630RU camcorder?

Q. I have a 2010 JVC Everio GZ-MG630RU camcorder. i recently bought a laptop with Win-7. i found out that Win-7 does not recognize my camcorder . My question is: how do i go about transferring the videos on my camcorders Hard Drive to the cameras mini SD card ?

Thanx

A. Excerpt from Amazon.com. Read your manual and your question makes no sense. Why do you want to copy from HDD to SD when the camera doesn't seem to have an mini SD card?

Everio Features

All 2009 Everios make sharing and watching videos easier than ever. New for this year is the One Touch Export function that allows Everio videos to be imported into iTunes and loaded into an iPod or iPhone. All 2009 Everios also offer One Touch DVD burning and the One Touch Upload function that JVC introduced to users in 2008 as a new and convenient way to upload videos to YouTube.

To use any of the three functions, simply connect Everio to a PC using the supplied USB cable. Then, the user chooses one of three buttons on the Everio: UPLOAD, EXPORT, or DIRECT DVD. Pressing the button will launch the appropriate Windows PC application that comes bundled with Everio, and the user simply follows the simple on-screen prompts. With just a few mouse clicks the process of uploading to YouTube, exporting to iTunes, burning to disc or transferring to an external hard disk drive will be completed. For uploading to YouTube, the user can perform an in-camera edit of any length video to fit the 10-minute YouTube limit.

For disc based archiving, there is an alternative to using a PC. JVC offers the CU-VD50 Direct DVD Burner/Player as an option, which allows burning of Everio videos to a DVD disc without having to use a PC.

The new Everio MediaBrowser software supplied with all Everio models is a Windows application providing an easy-to-search calendar-type graphical interface for indexing and finding video files. Thumbnail images of recorded videos and stills are superimposed on the calendar so its easy to see when any scene was recorded. The Everio MediaBrowser also allows easy playback, simple cut editing, and "Decomotion" to spruce up recorded footage with animated graphics for upload to YouTube. It also supports Export to iTunes, Upload to YouTube, burning to disc or transferring to HDD.

Another new feature found on all Everio camcorders is Digest Playback, which offers an easy and entertaining way to check the content residing on Everios HDD or SD/SDHC card. The function automatically selects highlight scenes from among the recorded content using JVCs proprietary algorithm and plays back what looks like a "coming attractions" trailer for a movie. Sixty minutes of footage is condensed into five minutes of highlight scenes.

Other Everio features have been enhanced for 2009. Laser Touch Operation has been updated to allow control of zooming and recording using either the Laser Touch scroll bar or buttons next to the LCD screen, as well as by the standard zoom lever and REC button. And as before, Laser Touch makes it easy to browse through thumbnail images of recorded scenes and access menu selection. Power-linked operation, long offered by JVC, goes a step further this year. Simply opening the LCD monitor automatically opens the built-in lens cover and powers up the camcorder. Closing the LCD also closes the lens cover and shuts down the power. With Quick Restart, recording can start in about one second after the LCD is re-opened.

In addition to performance and convenience, the 2009 Everio line offers plenty of style and shooting comfort. A new design features elegant curves, a silver-framed LCD and a comfortable angled grip with a new dual use strap. The strap can be used in the usual camcorder fashion, supporting the users hand when shooting, or it can be extended and used as a wrist strap like the type on most digital still cameras.

Im thinking about getting the olympus tough 3000 help?
Q. i make music videos for youtube (Cheerchik0425) and i use Sony Vegas 7.0 to edit but some cameras ive tried dont work with sony vegas so i was wondering if this works with it :) thanks

A. When the Olympus Stylus Tough 3000 reached the market in February 2010 it landed squarely in the already crowded under 5x optical zoom class of compact digitals. It became the first camera in the Tough series to offer HD (720p) video, accessible via a dedicated one-touch record button. There's a 2.7 inch LCD monitor, image stabilization, and 1GB of internal memory (with 632MB available for shooting functions).

Q. Ok so since I hate the small screen on my latop I installed my monitor to my laptop, But I am very clueless how to get the sound to work from my monitor? I have a HP 2009 Series LCD Monitor (widescreen) and I am using a Acer Extensia laptop with op system Windows Vista. Anyone know?

A. Connect your display`s miniJack connector to your computer.

how do i make my monitor hdcp complient with out buying anydvd software?
Q. i have a hp lcd monitor that reads its not hdcp complient. is there a workaround other than buying any dvd to get it to play blu ray movies?

A. You misunderstood.

HDCP is a hardware thing that needs to be BUILT into the monitor.

You will NOT be able to play back Blu-Ray discs in full HD on a non-HDCP monitor, no matter what DVD drive or software you try to buy.

What are all the parts I am going to need to build a gaming PC?

Q. I have never really done this before. I have taken computers apart and put them back together. I have switched out parts from computer to computer. But I have never actually built a PC. Needless to say, this is a learning experience and a fun way I figured to blow off a $1500 bonus from work. Here is the kind of gaming computer I would like.

I want to be able to play games like Kill-Zone, so I need a computer that can handle the graphics.
However, I also want to be able to play old games from 2003-2006 (If I need to rip out parts from older computers I will).
I also like to download a lot of things on my computer. Like, a lot!
I also like to multitask.
That's about it.

A. Ok. List.
Graphics- Radeon 7600 Series.
Motherboard-AMD Radeon 7690.
Tradition cables.
Intel Quad Core Prosceesor, 2012 version.
A decen fan system.
For the casing. I'd go with a dell case.
Sony 2013 Disk Drive All Purpose
Chrome Browser.
An alienware monitor if you can find one.
If not the above. Go with a Dell 2012 24-25" LCD monitor.
Windows 7

What kind of output has best video quality, composite video or component video for a 30 feet cable length?

Q. I have install a 34 LCD monitor using a DVD as video source but I don't know what output has the best video quality for a length of 30 feet of cable (RG6) to avoid distortion or ghosts. What is the best option?

A. i will have to assume since you didnt indicate what outputs your dvd player has. really any cable will work at that distance, but you may have to go with a larger gauge to make sure the signal doesnt degrade.
the ranking in quality goes as such, from best to worst
hdmi
component
s video
composite
coaxial
i would rec going to www.monoprice.com. they will have any and every cable you need, and will have a best rec gauge for the length cable you need. the prices are incredible, the product is top notch, and the cust service kicks butt. this is the only place i buy my cables now

What is a Large-Format LCD Monitor? Has does it differ from a LCD monitor with high resolution?
Q. While two monitors are 30 inches, one is a large format LCD with lower resolution and more expensive, and the other is a monitor with higher resolution but costs less. Please explain what does "large format" mean.

A. Large format monitors are normallly used for public displays. The resolution is lower than monitors normally used for pcs. This makes text and images larger because the pixels aren't as close together.

What is the best LCD monitor that can work with a laptop and a xbox 360?

Q. I have an ibook G4 and want to get a LCD Monitor preferably 22 inches or 23 inches or above that can work with my laptop and xbox 360. Also it should be in the $200 to $400 range. Which is the best one? Thanks!

A. I have a dell one and it works really good and when i went to the store they told me this is the best one they sell

How does it looks feel when i play xbox 360 on hdtv?
Q. I am planning to get an 22 inch HDTV. Is it worth it? Because i have a lcd monitor that's connected with a xbox 360 with a vga cable. It's high quality but not Hd.

A. Its looks a bit more colorful but I think 22 inchs is a bit to small so I suggest...

-Save your money a bit longer so that you can get a bigger one
-Dont buy it and stick with your LCD Monitor because if you can see your game then its good enough
-Dont buy it and buy some games instead with your hard earned cash
-Dont buy it and save your money for something better

I was thinking about this for a long time myself but I waited a bit longer until I was sure and I was happy with my decision....To keep my money.

I need a new monitor, what kind will work for my computer?

Q. My monitor screen is old and is much too dark, even with maximum brightness. I have an emachines Microsoft Windows XP computer. What monitor will work for this computer that's not horribly expensive?

A. LCD monitors are so nice, thin and light and bright and crisp, use less power, etc. Widescreen lets you spread more across the screen, better for watching movies, etc.

However, your graphics may not support the full size or resolution of said monitor; it will still work at some reduced resolution, but LCD monitors tend to look crappy at other than their native res. Solution, a new graphics card.

Prices? Recently got a dandy 19" Acer widescreen LCD from Newegg for $100, free shipping, but that was a sale. Watch for sales online or at your local retailers,

If you need an updated graphics card, as long as you aren't a gamer, something adequate should be under $30.

If you REALLY want to go cheap, your local computer store (not the big retailers) probably have used CRTs for a few bucks. Cruise your neighborhood on trash day; go to a local recycling event, a flea market. In these last cases, they may be defunct, so ask the 'owner' or pick up a bunch.

I am looking for a good digital camera for snapshots mostly of my family and for trips, any suggestions?

A. How does $100 sound at www.amazon.com
