I'm trying to buy a LCD monitor?

Q. Can anyone answer some of my questions?

1. Response time
is it better if the number is higher? or lower?

2. Contrast Ratio
is it better if the number is higher? or lower?

3. Brightness
is it better if the number is higher? or lower?

4. Dot Pitch
is it better if the number is higher? or lower?

5. are these company's monitors dependable? (ACER, GATEWAY, ENVISION, HP, ETC)

6. I wanna buy apple but its way to expensive so i'm looking for
samsung, lg, dell etc but those companies are cheap !!
what do you guys think? is there big difference?

7. Any recommend company or models?

Q. I was wondering if there was a program that can help me find the Response Time and Pixel Pitch for my monitor... I have looked all over the Internet and even on the HP site (its an HP monitor) but can't find those details.
