LCD Computer monitor question on brands..Acer Vs. Samsung? HD?

Q. Does it make a difference if its HD LCD or just LCD? Also is there a difference in Acer brand and Samsung?

A. it doesnt make much of a difference of what it is called because, its they type of screens you use in the monitor that makes the difference. most monitors can do more that 1080p resolution but its the type of lcd and backlighting the monitor has that will affect performance.

from experience Acers are usually cheaper and not as great quality as the Samsung monitors. another good quality is to check out the Dell monitors or the HP business class monitors too. both dell and hp use the samsung kits and re-brand it as thier own.


which one is better, plasma or LCD monitors? And which brand is preferred in each of them?
Q.

A. It really depends on so many things, for example, what you will use them for and where you will use them.

For example, if you will get a very large set (60 plus inches) you are better off with Plasma, because LCD can be very expensive when it is so big.

For sets 50 inch or smaller, you probably should go with LCD, because LCD is easier to deal with. There is no risk of 'burn in', which can permanently damage a Plasma TV.

LCD MONITOR........................................................................................?

Q. I was wondering if somebody could tell me the price range of lcd monitors in Fiji Islands.

A. It depends on the size, brand, and season in which they are selling LCD monitors.
I bought mine- HP LCD monitor 24cm x 24cm (width by height)( for $400 (fijian dollars).

Best HD 24" LCD Monitors Models and Brands?
Q. I'm planning to buy an HD 24" LCD Monitor that Supports resolutions of 1080p, and that provides Good Image Quality.

I currently have a Samsung 226bw LCD Monitor, and i want to Upgrade to a 24", Mainly for gaming and to video editing.

Please if you can List the Models and Brands that are the best, so i can decide which one I'll buy.

What is the best monitor brand that I can use for my ps3?

Q. What is the best monitor brand that I can use for my ps3?I need an monitor that can support the resolution of 1080p for my ps3. I also have a question if a monitor has the max resolution of 1980x1080 does it mean it can support 1080p?Thanks.

A. Get Samsung PX2370, its awesome. On cnet website its the best reviewed monitor. I bought it 2 months ago for my ps3 and its a treat to play games on it. It supports1080p resolution which means 1920x1080 (not 1980x1080, there is no such resolution like 1980x1080). And its very thin & sexy. Here is a link:

A. HDMI is good, but expensive. DVI will give you the same result for a lot less.

Refresh rates are going to be about the same for every brand. However, some top of the line have 240 Hz rates - very good.

Resolution: 1920x1200 is HD widescreen.

Contrast of 1000:1 or better.

Response: 5 ms or less

Dot Pitch: 0.28 or less

Brightness: 300 cd at a bare minimum, get the highest.

What is the best LCD monitors for the best price?

Q. I am looking into getting a new LCD monitor so I can take advantage of my 256mb video card with a DVI output. I am wondering if anybody has some good input on which brand and model to get , I like the samsung T220 with it's 20000:1 contrast ratio . Thanks for you input.

A. Yes I can give you some input. For real, no b.s. like on Polls and Surveys. I studied monitors last year extensively, and here are my results:

The two best choices I could find were Viewsonic and Samsung. I went with the Viewsonic 22" because of it's extremely high user satisfaction ratings, the unbelievable warranty it came with, and the price. Samsung was neck-n-neck, with Viewsonic. But the warranty wasn't as good, and they weren't on the market as long so I had no long term performance information to go on. You will never regret buying a Viewsonic anyway. They are not going out of business, and their quality is near the top of the heap. I bought it from COSTCO. If you don't have a membership then I recommend that you get one, because you are going to save the membership fee with the monitor purchase anyway. They have both Samsung and Viewsonic. You can go with the Samsung, if you want. You won't hear complaints from me. I'm just advising you from extensive experience and age (unfortunately), how you can make the best choice. You can see my monitor on my 360. The picture is tiny, but, you can see it.


What brand is normally better for computer screens?
Q. Well i am going to buy a LCD monitor and i was wondering what brand is normally the best quality for a computer screen, out of these 3 can you put in order whats the worst to best?

LG, Samsung and Asus.

A. In my experience...
Samsung LCD 5 years and still works great same goes for my samsung tv...
LG, bought one brand new and it had dead pixels right out of the box.
Asus, never owned but our school had a bunch and they always had to send them for repair!
