I have a problem with my LCD monitor! can u help me?

Q. ok this is the problem:
1 month ago i hit my LCD (accidentally) with a think
1 day after the accident it start to have some kinda blue spots in the place when he was hit
now here is the question:
can i fix the monitor?
i have the guaranty of the monitor for the next 2 years
can they fix the monitor?

I think you can test your monitor for damaged pixels by selecting "test monitor" on google search.Once you find the extent of damage....you can try to convince the damage wasn't caused by you,it was a manufacture defect.You might be able to get away with a new monitor,it all depends if they find out the damage was caused by neglect....I would try because you don't have anything to lose.Often it all really is a question of how good your warranty policy is and the person who makes the decision.Good Luck.

Issue: Video card or LCD monitor?

Q. A few months ago, my LCD monitor started acting strangely. It was displaying moving lines kind of similar to what you might expect on a CRT monitor with a too-high refresh rate. Shortly thereafter, it began acting even more spastic, sometimes flickering the width and height to about 1/4 of the normal size, discoloring similarly to when a magnet is next to a CRT monitor, or displaying "shimmers". I'm sort of confused as to some of this behavior, as I thought LCD panels weren't as prone to interference as CRTs. This leads me to believe that it's actually a hardware issue. My problem is, I can't tell whether it's video card or monitor. I tried hooking up my monitor to another computer and couldn't recreate the issue, but that doesn't mean much. I can't put the video card in another computer to test it, because it's on-board. Since on-board video cards are generally pretty lousy anyhow, I'm shortly going to upgrade--but I'll be mad at myself if it's actually the monitor. Any insight?
Oh, I tried completely uninstalling the video card driver, wiping it with a driver wiping software, then reinstalling, and still having issues.

A. I'd say if you tried this LCD on another computer it's probably the onboard video. But have you tried another monitor on this computer? That may give you the double check you need to feel safe getting a new video card.

What happens if I use a disinfecting wipe on my LCD monitor?

Q. I used a Lysol disinfecting wipe on both my LCD monitors while they were turned on (yeah...I know it was stupid) and now neither monitor will work.

To add to that, my G5 Power Mac, which was connected to the monitors at the time, seems to have frozen and won't respond to anything. I've tried unplugging it for 20 minutes and although when I plug it back up, the power indicator on the front is on, there is no other response.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A. Lysol is mostly water with a little alcohol and ammonia

You may have zapped your Monitors, Graphics Card,Motherboard and/or Power Supply

You will need to test each thing in a good system
Or take it all to a shop and ask what's fried

A. Don't use old electrolytic capacitors. They have a tendancy to dry out and go bad. If the old capcitors are not electrolytic, then they would probably be OK, but you might test them to see if they are still the rated capacitance.

What is the difference between LCD TV and LCD monitor?

Q. I want to purchase a LCD TV/LCD Monitor for my PC. Which should I purchase - LCD TV or LCD monitor. Is LCD TV harmful for eyes as compared to LCD Monitor? Which is the best one LCD TV or LCD Monitor?

A. A LCD MONITOR does not have a built in tuner...

That's the ONLY difference between the same model...

They are great if you know you'll be connected to Satellite or Cable and using their HD Set top boxes for the next 10 - 15 years.

If you're unsure, get the LCD TV.
If it was harmful to the eyes, do you think they would be allowed to sell it?

How to repair stuck pixel on lcd monitor?

A. I've recently repaired a stuck pixel on my 22" Fujitsu-Siemens monitor. I've bought the monitor just 1 month ago and the stuck pixel appeared 1 week after buying the monitor.
Well, "repair" is much to say. After I've notice it, I've run a program "dead pixel buddy" I think, to check if it's indeed a defective pixel. The pixel was stuck on green, but I still found it hard to believe. So I've just touched the area very gently with my fingertip, because it seemed to me it could be a small drop of water or a grain of dust. The pixel started blinking rapidly with the same green color. I've touched it again and the green color dissapeard (and the pixel displayed the correct color). Running the little test program again showed no defective pixels.
I did the whole "repair" thing with my bare finger and I left no fingerprint (I've touched the "pixel" really gently") but, of course, if you try this I would recommend covering your finger in a clean tissue.
After I repaired the pixel I was wondering I somebody else happened the same and I found other similar stories too - including some how-to's that involve switching on and of the monitor. But in my case that wasn't necessary.

Anyway, please note that you can't be sure my method or any of the others found on the web will work. Sometimes you can repair it, sometimes you just cant. But you don't lose anything if you try.

What does the ration mean in regards to the specs of LCD Monitors?

Q. When researching the specifications of LCD monitors, there is a ratio there, something like 1000:1. Some are different and I was wondering what those numbers mean. Is it the quality of the screen?

A. You usually can't believe this number (its called the contrast ratio) because the manufacturers will inflate it with their own special tests. Either way, higher is better. What it means is that the amount of light coming from a screen when it is pure white is 1000 times brighter than the light coming from it when it is pure black. That's what 1000:1 means.

why does my monitor keep flashing on and off when i play video?

Q. its fine when doing everything else.but when i try to watch a flick i keep getting the monitor test card flashing up every now and again.its a dell 19" lcd.ive run system mechanic and that hasnt solved the problem.
