What items would i need to accomplish this?

Q. Use my laptop as a monitor for my xbox 360. Is it possible?
I have a compaq presario v6000. What items would i need to buy for this to work?

A. It's not possible to do this effectively.

The only way to display the video from the xbox onto your laptops monitor is to purchase a USB video input device (like a tv tuner or a digital video capture stick). With one of these, you could display the video on your laptops monitor. However, there would be incredible lag involved with the video conversion/processing that games would be unplayable.

The VGA/HDMI ports that some laptops have are output-only and you can not connect the xbox to one of these ports and get video on your laptop screen.

Possibly an alternative would be a cheap LCD monitor. Some can be had for around $100. That would work 100% better.

How can I check how much input lag my TV has?
Q. I currently play on a 46 inch Sony Bravia LCD and it has horrible reaction time when it comes to fast paced games. I was wondering if anyone knows how I can check how much delay my TV has? I am thinking of switching to a 2ms monitor because I'm pretty sure the delay on the 46 inch has had a major impact on my gaming.

A. If you are a person who really likes sports and are considering upgrading, I would seriously look a plasma TV's rather the LCD TV's. Panasonic and Samsung have some nice plasma TV that are better for movement (ie sport) that LCD TV's
