How can I add speakers to an LCD monitor?

Q. Currently, my LCD monitor has no speakers. It has a VGA and DVI connection. I was going to connect an xbox to it with an HDMI to DVI connection but I was wondering how I would get sound. Any ideas? The only one I can think of using is Turtle Beach headsets to play sound through there but any other ways would help.

A. If you're using HDMI to DVI connection for your XBox, you'll need to use that little audio adapter thing that plugs into the other video port (not the HDMI port, but the other, larger one you'd use for the component video cable) for audio output to a pair of speakers or surround set.

Is it true that putting your speakers beside an LCD monitor can harm the monitor?
Q. I had heard a while ago that putting speakers beside an LCD monitor can harm the monitor over an extended period. Is it true?

A. it happens if u have a very very very poor quality monitor otherwise it does not happen.
