Why does the picture on my LCD monitor sometimes shake?

Q. Sometimes, the image on my LCD monitor shakes and it has done this ever since I bought the monitor almost three years ago. If I press the "Auto" button on the monitor, it resets and the shaking goes away. What could be causing this and is there anything I can do to stop it from happening? Thanks!

A. Is your cellphone nearby? Mine did this too and I could never figure it out and it annoyed me since it was new. I realized that my cellphone was causing it. Before someone calls or sometimes just when it is just sitting there, like some sort of configuration must be going on, it causes my monitor to shake.

What is causing my widescreen monitor's horizontal tearing?
Q. Many games have an option to reduce vertical tearing, but all I ever get is the horizontal kind when gaming. What is causing it, and is there anything I can do about it? I don't remember my non-widescreen LCD monitor having this problem; could the fact that it is widescreen have anything to do with it? My monitor is a 22" widescreen Samsung.

A. Use an HDMI or DVI cable if you can.DVI-D is best for DVI. Use the buttons on the monitor to make sure it's set for Digital.Look for the AUTO function, it may solve it.

If your video card or monitor has only VGA then try lowering/raising your refresh rate.Look for Vsync setting in video settings (nvidia nview or ati catalyst etc) and try enabling it.
