Why won't my LCD monitor work with my pc when i connect it?

Q. I connect my LCD monitor to my pc and the on light turns green then it dims and flashes red can someone help. When i connect my 1080p LCD Flat screen tv to my pc it works fine.

A. Your 1080p LCD HDTV's resolution is 1920x1080, which is what your Windows is set to display when you have your PC connected to it.

If your monitor's native resolution is lower than that, it cannot display 1920x1080 and will display no image.

Possible solution: While your PC is connected to your LCD HDTV, drop Window's resolution down to something low like 1024x768. Then attempt to connect it to your monitor. You should be able to get an image then.
