Can I use a new computer with my old Dell CRT monitor?

Q. I intend to buy a new computer soon with Core2 duo chip and nVidia grahic card to run Windows Home Premium. Due to budget constraint I intend to use my current Dell CRT monitor and upgrade to a LCD monitor later. I will use the computer to surf the net, run Microsoft Office and play some games. Will I encounter any problem using the old CRT monitor.

A. it should be fine - you may need a DVI-VGA adaptor depending on the graphic card output though.

I am wanting to buy a 22" lcd monitor. Can you give me any useful information about one?
Q. Right now i have a Dell 17" lcd monitor and was wanting a 22" Dell lcd monitor.I only use my computer for about 3 hours a day.Can you give me the pros and cons to buy one or not to buy one.I'm not really a computer genius but i would like to know if i would really benifit from a larger monitor. Thanks

If it means anything i am using a Radeon x300 graphics.

A. you will have a much larger viewing area than a 17 inch, MUCH MUCH MUCH. you iell be able to fit more programs/windows on one screen. if it was me id go for it cuse i just like bigger monitors, and i was in ur position once (or a similar one) and i went for it and was very happy i did. but if you want to save your money, dont get one or wait for a good deal, like i got mine for $200 at bestbuy :). make sure it has at least a 5 ms response time, dvi and vga input, and anything above a 700:1 contrast ratio. and thats its not some cheap brand, get one made by someone like westinghouse, LG, samsung, etc.. not some office depot only brand.
p.s.
if you get this monitor gaming performance (if you game) will be greatly decreased, expecially with that graphics card.
