how to change LCD monitor viewsonic VA1701wb resolution ?

Q. I Had bought new viewsonic VA1701wb 17" widescreen LCD monitor.
In its manual it says it is best for resolution 1280 x720. but there is no such resolution. There are 1280 x 768 and 1280 x 800 but there is no 1280 x 720. Also its not showing text clearly in windows xp. Text are showing blurred. How to correct this problem, Please tell how to change resolution to 1280 x 720 and to show text clear. Please help me......

A. If the monitor has a auto button click it to adjust the screen resolution automatically. If the above doesn't work then go to Start, click settings, click Control Panel, click Display click settings then slide the screen resolution bar to more, and change the color quality to highest (32bit).

what is the best resolution for 19' LCD monitor?
Q. I tried setting most resolutions like 1024x768, 1280x1024 etc.. but fonts looks pixelated and not smooth. I found only 1440x900 resolution very good and optimal, but screen looks way too big. Can anybody recommend the best resolutions suitable for 19' LCD monitor?

A. If it is widescreen then 1440 by 900.

If it is not widescreen then 1280 by 1024.

Any lower resolution and the monitor will have to scale to image up to it's native resolution and the image will look fuzzy.

What you can do is to alter your DPI setting in the Display properties so that Windows scales all the text up to make it more readable. For the size of the windows you can alter that yourself by dragging the sides or corners.

Control Panel > Display properties > Settings tab > Advanced button. The DPI setting should be in the top half of the window. The larger the DPI setting the bigger Windows will make fonts.

How much distance should you keep a 17 inch monitor from your eyes?

Q. I have a 17 inch TFT Lcd monitor, my resolution is 1440 by 900, my Graphic card recommends that resolution for optimal resolution....even if i keep any other resolution it looks not good....so since the words and things are very small i feel hard to read those...so like to know how far can i the monitor from my eyes...

A. Best image is displayed at native resolution (no pixel distortion). However, if you find the fonts and icons too small, adjust to larger fonts and icons. Adjust them under Appearance in Display Properties.

Unlike the old CRT monitor, the LCD screen does not emit any X-ray radiation. There is no hazard even if you get very close to the screen.

Can I force a higher resolution on my PC and monitor?
Q. I have a middle of the road eMachines PC with a 22 inch LCD monitor. My resolution settings are the highest they can go right now (1920x1080)

Can I "force" or trick my PC or monitor into a higher resolution setting??? Is this possible and how?

A. No. If it were a CRT monitor, you MIGHT be able to ever slightly at the sacrifice of refresh rate (vertical scan rate), but pushing the hardware to its limits can cause failure.

LCD monitors have one fixed resolution at which everything must be displayed.

How do you modify the magnet effect of the windows 7 taskbar?

Q. I have been on the windows 7 beta for a while, and just recently I decided to start pinning programs to the taskbar.

However, I would like it if the pinned stuff went to the right instead of mixing with my already open stuff (I have a 24 inch Samsung LCD monitor 1920x1200 resolution). I hate having a huge untidy taskbar filled with random pinned stuff AND open programs.

Anyone know what can be done?

A. I don't think that's possible... What is wrong with that, anyway? I didn't find it confusing... I suggest you just separate the programs you use most often from the programs that you use less often.

How can I move stuff from my laptop monitor to my second monitor?
Q. Yesterday I bought a HP 2009 HD-ready LCD monitor. 20", 1600x900 resolution. Last night I couldn't get the monitor out of sleep mode until I realized this morning that I had to adjust the settings from my computer. The monitor shows my background, but I am clueless how to get my mouse to jump from my laptop monitor to my second monitor. And how to move stuff over to my second monitor probably.

Is there a way to output to an LCD TV at one resolution, while showing the LCD Monitor at another resolution?

Q. I am trying to get my LCD TV to show through VGA at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and the LCD Monitor through DVI at a resolution of 1680 x 1050. Is there a way to show the exact same output, whilst using different resolutions?
Oh, so basically I have to use the same resolution to get the exact same output?

A. If you set your LCD TV to display 1680x1050, then you can get it to display the exact same output as your LCD monitor.

Remember that exact same output means it has to be at the same resolution too.

Anyway, you are hooking things up wrong. You should use analog VGA with the lower resolution display (your monitor) and digital DVI with your higher-resolution LCD HDTV (via a DVI-to-HDMI cable). DVI/HDMI works better at higher resolutions.
