What is the best monitor for photo editing under $400 ?
Q. LCD or LED monitors? What brands are the most successful among other photographers.

A. Any monitor that is routinely AND properly calibrated (at least once a month, or more often) with a good calibrator is better than a $1,500 monitor that is not calibrated.

At the >$400 range, almost anything will suit your purposes.

For a monitor calibrator, I use a DataColor Spyder3 Elite...but there are other good brands as well.

On of my favorite editing monitors is a Peachtree CRT. It is a generic Sony Trinitron and the colors are flawless. For LCD's, I am using Dell's.
