How to dispose of a broken computer and an non-LCD monitor?

Q. I don't want to put it in the garbage. Is there an environmentally friendly way to get rid of it? Oh, and when I get a new computer how are LCD monitors better for your eyes?

Thanks

A. You need to call a recycling company. They will probably charge you to recycle them as the heavy metals have to be removed. Also, LCD monitors are better because they reduce glare (even the glossy ones), and reduce eyestrain because of this.

Can LCD monitors damage the skin around your eyes?
Q. I have an LCD monitor and I wanted to know if it can damage or affect the SKIN around your eye in any way? Like for example can it cause premature eye wrinkles, or thin down the skin around it, or anything similar?

A. LCD monitors are the same light as a lightbulb...just a bit more intense and controlled to display images. Unless you're squinting and straining to read something on screen then you're fine.
