Lg e2040t LED monitor or Samsung B2030 LCD monitor?

Q. not able to decide which one to prefer, LED or LCD, can somebody help me on which to buy.

A. They are both LCD's, the "LED" type monitors just use white LED's to provide the backlight. They replace the cold cathode tube lights that current LCD's use for back light.

All LCD screens need light behind them shining through the LCD panel to be able to see anything on the screen, its just the way LCD's work:

The LED's have certain advantages, they are cooler (heat-wise), they last longer (won't die as quickly), and use less power (great for laptops). The disadvantage is they currently are more expensive.

Bottom line, if you can afford it, get the LED, especially if you are buying a laptop. If you are buying a desktop monitor, either will work, but the LED backlight will probably last longer, as long as the rest of the monitor's electronics hold up.

what is difference between lcd & led monitors?
Q.

A. LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. The way it actually works is pretty complicated. This is a good article if you'd like a better definition of out it actually works.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. The way they work is much simpler. It is basically a bunch of very small Diodes(more or less light bulbs) that are turned on at different times and with different colors in order to get the image on the screen. This is an article that goes into more detail.

LED TVs or monitors consume less energy, produce less heat, are smaller and last longer than LCD TVs or monitors.
