A. You are far better off reducing on some parameters and raising the graphics card level.
For example, the i7-3770K has hyperthreading unused in gaming. It only performs slightly better than i5-3570K. They are getting $120 more for the i7 over the i5. You can get to a GTX 670 or HD 7970 for the price difference.

The games you show though are fairly low in graphics, and a 75Hz display can only show at 75 frames per second and people cannot detect over about 40 frames per second.
A 7870 should play almost all games on ultra.
Here are some examples:

Shown vs HD 7950 and GTX 670
The screen is a 1920x1080, so should be a little higher than the 1920x1200

GLW stock.. what do you think about it?
Q. What do you think.. I have bought in at 14.36 after some profits and losses .. back and forth.. now I'm down about 1,200.. Hold it?

A. Corning Glass is a silly company??? Whatever.....not a very helpful comment IMHO

Corning glass has a bit of a problem as I understand it...a big share of its market has disappeared with the advent of LCD television and computer monitors. Older cathode ray tubes used a lot of glass...by comparison modern TV's and monitors use little. So hopefully they will find a new product to replace this loss.

Let us look at fundamentals to see where you stand

Here is the Balance Sheet:

http://tmx.quotemedia.com/financials.php?qm_page=16802&qm_symbol=GLW:US
There is a fair bit of debt here with long term debt being about $2.2 Billion and short term is $27 Million...it does seem stable but it is rather high in my opinion

Here is the Income statement
http://tmx.quotemedia.com/financials.php?qm_page=898&qm_symbol=GLW:US
It does have a steady net revenue of almost $800 Million per quarter so the company is not destitute

Wow.... I can see your problem....you got shot in a drive by here....didn't you?

I think your purchase at $14.00 was pretty reasonable (we will look at resistance/support in a P&F chart in a few minutes) ... you bought after it broke a 50 day moving average...good move....probably on Jan 9 or 10 from the look of it...the Slow Sto, MACD, and BBWidth signaled a positive breakout...the price was riding the upper band..above at first but when it reentered the BBs it still tracked the upper BB until Jan18...then it entered a consolidation phase ...not serious but you got blind-sided on Jan 25....that was not predictable at all....

On Jan 25 they announced 4th quarter results that is the cause of the fall.....hmmmmmm

http://tmx.quotemedia.com/article.php?newsid=47787689&qm_symbol=GLW:US

OUCH there was a quarterly loss of 33% in their net income...that did it...and it looks like it was unexpected from the rise in price leading to the announcement.

"The display industry is in a period of transition .... We are working closely with our customers to reduce glass prices to help them with their immediate financial strains. To that end, price declines will be significant in the first quarter of 2012, as they were in last year’s fourth quarter. We expect significant double-digit price declines over the cumulative two-quarter period. "

goes back to my first comment....not only are they using less glass they appear to have to sharpen their pencil in pricing.

this chart is not particularly bullish either on a dime it turned from Mildly bullish to very bearish...
Let us see now where the support/resistance lines are

http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.pnf?chart=GLW,PWUADANCBO[PA][D20120126][F1!3!0.2!!2!20]&pref=G

hmmm.....this is pretty grim....Your support level is $12.60 with the next support at $12.00...it just broke a minor support (now resistance) at $13.20...$14.00 is a more robust resistance.

I think you should consider selling this...the outlook for the next quarter is not good so I expect it could fall to $12.00 or less with time. The question is will it pullback a bit to allow you to recoup some of your losses

You should sell....the question is at what price. OK let's look at the intra-day chart

http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/advchart/frames/frames.asp?show=&insttype=Stock&symb=GLW&x=30&y=11&time=2&startdate=1%2F4%2F1999&enddate=1%2F27%2F2012&freq=6&compidx=aaaaa%3A0&comptemptext=&comp=none&ma=1&maval=20&uf=8&lf=1&lf2=2&lf3=4&type=4&style=320&size=4&timeFrameToggle=false&compareToToggle=false&indicatorsToggle=false&chartStyleToggle=false&state=11

you can see in this chart that the $12.60 support at the end of yesterday's trading...the price raised slightly on higher volume after that...after sales are at $12.65 down a couple of cents....hmmm.

It is not clear cut at all......you have 2 choices

1. Sell immediately at the best price you can get and take the loss.

2. Watch the opening trading like a hawk...in L2 if you have it...if it breaches $12.60....sell immediately...if it rises from its current position follow it in L2 also.

The MACD blue line is above the brown which is mildly bullish...as well the RSI is trending up in the Intra-day chart....so it could rise on morning trading...If it does watch it rise til the RSI reverses direction and the blue MACD line falls below the brown one again.

If you don't have L2 charting here is a free one that may help you

This situation happens and neither fundamentals or charting would have helped predict this...Good luck...I hope this helps.
