Is the canon 7D a good camera for concert photography?
Q. I currently have a 30D and it works great but I would like to update and find a camera with more mega pixels and better iso quality. Is the 7D going to be worth buying. A lot of people say its great and a lot pointed out significant flaws. If there is another camera that's great for concert shoots I would like to find out. I plan to visit a photo store and look at whats out there and see what the sales people say. I just want something that is fast good in low light and focuses well.

A. Hey,

Yes! Of course, 7D is for action and low light with great AF and low noise. I have the 7D, most of my friends too (well, some have 1D Mark II but they love the 7D!)

It's clean to ISO 6400 and even ISO 12800 can sometimes be used for small prints. 18 megapixels allows us to crop a lot or print huge. If you view pictures on the monitor, you dont need more than 5MP so no need to worry here ;)

19 AF vs 9 Af points and it has many more other options, bigger and sharper LCD so you can view images easier.

Here's a post called 'Buying a DSLR, what's important, megapixels, features, brand, price, quality and which one to buy - http://www.the-dslr-photographer.com/2009/03/which-dslr-to-buy.html

Here's a review of it at same site with ISO examples: http://www.the-dslr-photographer.com/2010/01/canon-eos-7d-review.html

Good luck!
