Can anyone recommend a good gaming monitor?

Q. I want a monitor for gaming and there are so many different ones. I was wanting one in either 23,24 or 27 inch, I don't mind. But can somebody tell me a good one between $200-$250 a little over is fine.
Just had a little more research and I think I have narrowed it down to 2 monitors.
Viewsonic VX2453MH and ASUS ML248H. Can someone tell me which is better or if there is an even better one still.

A. Go with ASUS. I have an ASUS VE276Q 27", and I love it. They go for ~$270, but you could pick up a 24" model for under $200. For gaming you want a really fast response time (mine is 2ms, which is just about as fast as it gets for LCD monitors), so make sure the one you buy is no more than 5ms.

What is a good LCD monitor for doing some photo work (hobby not pro) Budget = $400?
Q. Looking for a monitor good for doing photo editing but not anything completely professional. In researching monitors, many mention the gaming, video, text capabilities but not photo. I just want something that will have good color accuracy so that if I print what I see it's fairly the same thing.

A. Wait, maybe your budget is actually $500? Isn't that what you said, $500?
