Found out my Dell E153FPT is a touchscreen. How do I restore?
Q. Bought a nice Dell E153FPT LCD flat screen monitor at a thrift store. Found out that this model number is a touchscreen. I am disabled and would find it very useful to have this feature restored. Any suggestions? Thanx!

A. >I know that Windows 7 has accessibility features for handicapped individuals and so if you have W7, you should look at HELP to see how accessability features are enabled including touch screen applications. According to this Dell description, the touch features are enabled by specific touch enabled software...

"While touch optimized applications are not required for touch screen usage they are especially compelling for: Customers with touch optimized applications (Retail Point-of-Sale, Manufacturing, Banking, Hospitality Kiosks, Food Service, Hospitals, Electronic Voting, Tablet applications); customers who utilize menu driven applications (Healthcare); customers who utilize browser driven applications (Call Centers); disabled users, or other users with mouse challenges."

So I presume this means there is nothing software wise for the LCD itself. Your operating system and software have to provide the ability to use the screen as a touchscreen. if your software has that capability, you should just have to plug the LCD into your computer and it should be working for you.

Read your specific HELP sections in your software and enable any windows features which interface with touch capability.
