A. Yes HD movies on blu-ray discs have a resolution of 1080p, so your monitor supports that resolution. But 24 inch is low for watching HD movies in full glory (anything of 32 inch or above would be good) .
Besides Blu-Ray players in India are rediculously high priced. If you can afford it, sony PS3 would be great investment for playing Blu-Ray discs as well as games in budget of around 20000 or you can wait for prices to come down.

Q. I'm planning to connect my ps3 to LCD monitor. I have DVI to HDMI cable. How can I know if DVI port in LCD monitor is HDCP compliant?
A. Google up the model name of your LCD monitor and read the specifications on the manufacturer's website.
