How is the quality in using an LCD tv as a computer monitor?

Q. Is there any sacrafice in quality in using a computer to connect to an LCD tv using a HD-15 input oppose to connecting to an LCD computer monitor. I am looking for a LCD tv (42 inches) with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Am I right to asume that a LCD tv with 1080P capability will give me a 1920 x 1200 resolution from my computer?
assuming that my vid card is a BFG GeForce 7950 GT OC

A. Hi,
There is no sacrifice in quality in using LCD TV as monitor.

It is advisable to use LCD TV as monitor as it can serve dual purpose and no lose of display quality. LCD TV is basically LCD monitor with TV function additional.

is a 1680x1050 resolution a good quality for a LCD monitor?
Q.

A. resoulution is not really quality anymore but really just a meaning of size.

By telling me that res. i know you have a 22" lcd monitor which is good.

The next best thing is to move up to a 24" which shows 1920x1200, higher than the latest state-of-the-art TV's!
