How big should my widescreen LCD be to match a normal LCD's height?

Q. I am thinking about upgrading to a widescreen LCD monitor with my new computer. How big should a widescreen LCD be to have the same screen height as a 17" and/or a 19" regular LCD monitor?

A. Hi. The screen's resolution should equal the number of pixels in the LCD, so size is not the main issue. My LCD has 1280 by 1024 pixels, so that is what I run at. The 17" and 19" dimensions are the hypotenuse values (diagonal). I don't know the brands you are looking at but try to have at LEAST 1024 vertical pixels.

When constructing a web page, how big should the pixel size be?
Q. Simple question for developing a web site. These days common PC users have LCD monitors usually a wide screen. Please suggest your opinion.

A. pixel size?? im sure u meant to talk about the width of the page and graphics? i usually design so that it works fine even on a 15" monitor (1024 x 768 resolution)... so generally that makes the width of the page 900-1000 px a good value...
