how can I power a pc monitor lamp by itself?

Q. I had an old LCD desktop monitor that was not working anymore but the lights were, I decided to take it apart and take the lights out. Is there a way to power those lights by themselves without connecting them to the whole hardware?

A. The background lights? Little lights on the frame of the monitor? There are ways, but we need to know which lights.

Does anybody know any good websites to buy desktop computer towers?
Q. I have a fairly new LCD HP desktop monitor and am looking to buy just the computer tower to go with it. I am also not sure about which brands are compatible with my monitor or if only HP brand computers will work with it. Does anybody know any good websites where I can get one?

A. YOu can get any tower pretty much and it will go with that monitor. I perosnally like HP, they sem to have the best value ,although dell had some pretty good deals latly. I would avoid places like Tigerdirect. posted above. They are great sites for the intermediate user, but it sounds to me like you could benefit from the added support that a company like HP can offer you.

Email me and I can help you pick out a CPU you suit your needs and budget.
