cleaning LCD monitor?

Q. i just got a new LCD monitor. there was a sheet of paper that came with it, that said we are not supposed to touch it because it could damage it. how, then, am i supposed to clean it when it gets dirty? any help appreciated. thank you.

A. It just means you're not supposed to touch it directly with your fingers, or apply too much pressure to it when cleaning etc.

There are plenty of cleaning solutions and "wet wipe" type products intended for cleaning LCD monitors, and most of them work just fine.

Did I harm my LCD HD TV by using dust off monitor wipes to clean it?
Q.

A. You should be fine so long as you didn't remove the Dust Off using sandpaper. Monitor have anti-glare coatings just like (some) LCD screens, and monitor wipes are specifically made to avoid damaging the coating. It is possible the Dust Off left some residue on your screen. Check your instructions, but typically a cloth with a bit of plain water should be fine. Paper towels or regular cloth can leave behind lint or dust also.
