Which monitor should I get Acer LCD or AOC LED?

Q. which monitor should I get?? Acer G235H (LCD) or AOC Razor (LED) ? both of them are 23 inches and I'm buying a monitor for gaming.

A. Looking at the specifications for both, they are very close. When looking for a gaming monitor you must look at the response time measured in Milliseconds. Both monitors are 5ms response times, 1920x1080/60hz resolution, and while the image brightness on the Acer LCD is slightly higher, you are much better off going with the AOC LED.

Here is why: LED is a newer technology that provides a better lighting with better contrast. TFT Active Matrix LCD is a little older - both use LCD screens, but the LED monitors have a backlight that consists of a matrix of LEDs.

What does this offer? Well for one the AOC model here offers a contrast ratio (dynamic) of nearly 50000000:1, due to the LEDs, whereas the Acer LCD only offers an 80000:1 contrast ratio. You will get a much better image from the AOC LED. Plus, I find that the LED backlights are much less likely to fail in comparison to that standard backlights of LCDs. Plus, they are thinner. From what I see the AOC is about $20 more expensive on average, but it is worth it.

AOC LED no question.

Which is better for a 20" computer monitor, lcd or led?
Q.

A. An LED monitor is actually a type of LCD. It's an LED monitor with backlit or edge lit LED's that turn on and off in light and dark situations, resulting in a better contrast ratio. An LED TV may have a contrast ratio, where contrast ratio means differentiation between shades of black. You'll be happier with the picture on an LED, although they do have more problems with blurring around fast moving objects in videos.
