LCD Monitor Stretching Issues?

Q. My dad received an 19" lcd monitor for christmas. It's a 16:10 with two plugs, one for dvi and the other for the monitor plugin. He has the monitor plugin but no dvi plugin on his pc. The monitor shows up fine but the screen is stretched just a tad bit and the fonts are a little disorted. On 800X600 is looks fine but any other resolution and it looks bad. I heard 1440X900 would be the best resolution for it but the display settings didn't have that option. His pc is a 2-3 year old emachine. What would be the best way to resolve this issue?

A. You need to lookup the native size for the monitor as LCD screens do not work well outside that resolution

a 19" screen would most likely require 1280 x 1024 for the best appearance but without knowing the make and model, this could be innaccurate.

Your best bet is to take a look in the manual that came with it and find the information, then , if your PC does not support this resolution, you need to upgrade the Graphics card to one that does support it

How do I reset my LCD monitor to factory default settings?
Q. I was messing around with the brightness, contrast, etc. using the buttons on the front of the monitor and now my colors is all weird.
I really wish there was, but I've spend 2 hours on this, trying to get back to the original factory default settings. There is no "reset" option.

A. Go to the menu or settings, and hit Reset Factory Settings.
