How find out whether a monitor is 3D ready or not?

Q. Also i would like to know if i have graphics hardware and the required driver to support 3D but the LCD monitor is not 3D ready, then can i still view 3D pics and play 3D games? i have geforce 9800gt, 4gb ddr3 ram, 750 gb hard drive cap and i would even like to know a web source where i can compare price for computer accessories in Indian currency. Thank you.

A. If the 3D pictures/games require the use of the old style 3D glasses with the colored type lenses, then Yes, you can use your current hardware. But if you're referring to the new 3D technology designed monitors/TVs, then No, you would need the actual hardware designed for that capability.

Can anyone help with a 3d Stereo setup? I have a Mac Pro Tower and a Quadro FX 4800 for Mac graphics card?
Q. I would like to have an LCD monitor. The computer will be used for programs such as Coot,O, or Pymol. Any help is appreciated
Thanks Adam, I am aware of that situation, maybe I should've asked if there is a better setup, including graphics card

A. The driver for OS X does not support Stereo 3D, nor are their any plans to implement it. You can only use it with Windows or Linux. You can of course do this with your Mac Pro by booting in to one of those OSes. There are plenty of resources for helping you do it under those OSes and starting with Nvidia's own pages should point you in the right direction.
