Does anyone know how to why I get red dots on pictures and text on my lcd monitor?

Q. I just switched to an lcd monitor for my computer and sometimes, certain colors change to these red spots, mostly on pictures. Also, if you minimize the picture or if the picture is big enough to scroll down and make the image disappear from the screen then bring it back up, the red dots will be gone.

A. You can try doing a factory reset of the monitor to see if that will work. You would find that by pressing some of the buttons that the LCD has and finding your way to that option. If that doesn't work, check the video settings under the Display Properties window. If you don't find anything, check for updates for your display drivers. You would have to open up the System Properties windows by right-clicking on My Computer in the desktop and clicking Properties OR hitting the Windows Logo key + Pause, then directing yourself to the Hardware tab and clicking on Device Manager. When it opens up expand the option by clicking the plus sign next to Display Adapters and right-click on the name of your video card that comes up and click on Properties. Go to the Driver tab and try to find an update for the driver version and download and install it. And finally if that doesn't work, then you may have a defective monitor and I suggest you return it and get yourself a new one! Sorry for the long answer; I hope this helps any!

We just installed Windows 7 onto our computer and everything on the screen is wide. How to fix?
Q. We have a normal acer wide screen lcd monitor and a gateway computer. The resolution is set on 1280 x 1024. Once we installed Windows 7, everything became wide on the screen. (Pictures and text are stretched and squished). How should I go about fixing this? What should I do to fix it/where should I go on the computer to fix this?
Thank You!!!

A. Delete Windows and install Linux (it's free, legal and simple to use, free download too)
OR
Get a mac, no problems with that, you get what you pay for, and stuff you DON'T pay for can be good too.
