How to get the correct colors from LCD computer monitor?

Q. I feel like my LCD monitor's colors are not accurate. how can I check that? I need to get perfect, natural colors. I have a Samsung 226BW monitor

Thanks in advance!

A. If you have nvidia graphic card there should be a nvidia controlpanel where you can change about everything, you can find it in controlpanel - more settings, if you have another card see if there is some kind of settings for that in the controlpanel

Is it safe to increase my refresh rate on my Monitor and Graphic card?
Q. Both my monitor and graphic card can support up to 75 hertz, but they are currently at 60 hertz. Can I ruin my monitor and graphic card by increasing the refresh rate?

A. If you have an LCD monitor it's most likely fixed to 60hz. If you have a CRT, you definately want to crank it up to 85hz, the screen will feel crisper.

But to answer your question, you can't hurt it. All that will happen is your screen will go blank, you panic, and in about 15 seconds the settings will go back to normal. What happened is windows lets you change the settings and shows a pop up that says, "Are you sure you want to do save this?" With the new settings, but if you can't see the screen due to improper settings it will reset itself in about 15 seconds.

Basically it won't let you put it on settings that are not supported.
