How much are LCD monitors likely to come down in the next year or so?

Q. I'm planning on buying a second Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP- HC 24" Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor some time in 2008 or early 2009, and was just wondering how much cheaper people think they'll get.

A. that's a long time frame for computers. LCD's have not dropped much in price in the past few years except for the cheap ones. That dell has not really moved in price in quit a while. I looked at one and I think the price has change 50 bucks in 11 months.

don't mean to burst your bubble but I don't think its gonna drop anytime soon. Anything bigger than a 22" is getting into the gamer/professional realm and that's a specific market.

What are the most popular LCD computer monitor brands?
Q. Hello,

I'm in the market for a 24" widescreen LCD computer monitor and I'd like to know which brands are the most popular brands on the market?

A. Samsung is my personal choice. You also have dell, viewsonic, hp, asus, and LG. I think that covers about all of the most popular brands.

As I said, Samsung tends to put out high quality LCD screens. On top of that, they often have very good product warranties. The offer 36 month warranties on many LCD screens, which is pretty long considering.

In the LCD screen ratings I have read from PCworld magazine, it is usually Samsung that scores the highest, with HP close beind and then LG. I rarely hear anything good about viewsonic or dell.
