Q. I'm looking to replace my screen but do not want to buy the wrong screen

A. Without even looking at the links you provided I can tell you with absolute certainty that both are LCD.
ALL current screens are LCD.
where "LED" gets involved is that older LCD displays are back-lit by Cold Cathode Florescent tubes
while newer ones are backlit by LED's
Sales and marketing people intentionally (or ignorantly) blur this dinction and sell
"LED Back-lit Monitors" as "LED monitors" which is something they are certainly NOT,
because the latter does not currently exsist as a common consumer item
(unless you are wiling to pony up ~$18,000(US) for such a display...)
There are no current "pure" LED displays as "production" items.
Allegedly there will be some on the marketed mid 2012, but only time will tell if that happens or not.

and an optional LED backlit display. (in the higher resolution)
I don't know about the compatibility between the different displays or retrofitting displays

Which has better global picture quality? An IPS LCD or an nowadays LED screen?
Q. I'm asking this because I know people who work with graphics �still pictures, film edition, etc� love LCD screens with IPS technology. However current LCD screens are newer.

A. I like IPS because they seem to have a more vivid picture, this is one I have been looking at with a really small bezel http://httgo.co/2012/11/thin-borderless-ips-23-inch-monitor-by-aoc/
