How does LCD monitor from a laptop work and comunicate with the motherboard?

Q. Hello everyone,

As far as know most laptops LCD monitors are connected to the video card on the motherboard by a video cable. The LCD also has AC/DC inverter that converts low voltage DC power to higher voltage AC for a backlilght bulb. Do all laptops today this type of structure? Do all monitors today have backligh bulb?

Thanks in advance.
thanks... are you saying that those lcd monitors that are using backlight bulb use latest technology. how did it work before?

A. well no laptop would be a laptop w/o a backlight bulb, and no, some factories still make the old laptops that dont go w/ that layout structure

How do I network an lcd monitor to my laptop?
Q. I just got this lcd monitor so I could network it to my laptop. By network, I mean having the laptop screen like it usually is but have the lcd screen so that its another screen so I can put other windows on there. I know how to connect them so they are the same exact screen but thats not what i want. I want to know how to use the laptop screens like normal and the lcd like another seperate screnn. I hope you can understand what I am saying. Thanks for you help!

A. What your trying to do is to run your laptop screen and the LCD screen as 2 seperate displays. This can be done in Win XP, if you right click on the main window and select properties, settings, and make sure that you can see 2 monitors in your drop down menu.
Make sure you have the LCD monitor connected.
There is a guide under Windows, Help and support, type in: dual monitors and it guides you thru the set up.
