What kind of adapter do I need to buy to hook up my video game consoles to my lcd monitor?

Q. I have acer 24" lcd monitor. No speaker port only a hdmi port. I want to connect my xbox(original), wii, ps2, gamecube, etc. to it. What type adapter do I need to purchase in order play all my consoles using the monitor.

A. It has an HDMI port?

None of the systems you listed have HDMI output.

So you may need to see if you can find a converter for the three-pronged "Composite" signal into HDMI. They aren't common.

How can I add speakers to an LCD monitor?
Q. Currently, my LCD monitor has no speakers. It has a VGA and DVI connection. I was going to connect an xbox to it with an HDMI to DVI connection but I was wondering how I would get sound. Any ideas? The only one I can think of using is Turtle Beach headsets to play sound through there but any other ways would help.

A. If you're using HDMI to DVI connection for your XBox, you'll need to use that little audio adapter thing that plugs into the other video port (not the HDMI port, but the other, larger one you'd use for the component video cable) for audio output to a pair of speakers or surround set.
